• With dozens of retail and specialty shops and stores, shopping is the #1 indoor activity in Red River. Indian jewelry, fine clothing and T-shirts, candles, ceramics and furniture can be found around town. Ride the trolley or stroll the sidewalks: it’s a small town.

• The Red River Community House opened in the summer of 1942 and for the past 57 years it has been the site of down-home fun. Daytime activities include cards, games and lectures, while the evenings are filled with square and round dancing, dance lessons and talent shows. Sundays are reserved for a Gospel sing-song. The public is always welcome.

• The Red River Public Library/Historical Museum is located at the "Y" on East Main. The library has a great collection of books, including a Southwest section, and is online. The museum houses photos and artifacts of Red River’s colorful past. While admission is free, donations are appreciated and some souvenirs are on sale.

• In addition to the Red River Gallery of Fine Art (see Life And Art Inseparable), the Black Crow Coffee House also has a variety of folk art for sale, much of which is produced by area artists in Northern New Mexico.

• Black Mountain Playhouse, located on Pioneer Road across from the ski area, is a fun center with video games and arcade amusements, pool tables, a roller skating rink, miniature golf and also have the go-cart track on Main Street, all great family entertainment.
